ABSTRACT

Objective: To explore the psychological and behavioral characteristics of problematic social networks usage. Methods: Totally 11 problematic social networks users were selected from 269 Beijing college students who often used social networks, and they were also deeply interviewed. The Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to analyze transcriptional texts. Results: Problematic social networks usage was classified into the following 6 aspects, deviant behaviors, poor attention state, impaired social function, bad moods, abstinence reaction (withdrawal) and tolerance. Conclusion: The present study generalizes the psychological and behavioral characteristics of problematic social networks usage and offers the basis of exploring its measurement tools.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the feasibility and value of magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to monitor non?arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). Methods Thirty eight NAION patients (56 eyes) were divided into acute period in 17 eyes, progressive period in 16 eyes and chronic period in 23 eyes at the base of onset time. According to matching principle, 56 eyes in 38 normal controls (NCs) were enrolled. All the patients and NCs underwent MR and DTI scan. The raw data were processed by two experienced radiologists, mean diffusivity (MD), axial diffusivities (λ//), radial diffusivities (λ┴), fractional anisotropy (FA) and Length value were got. The independent sample t test was used for the parameter values between the NAION group and the NCs group. A single factor variance analysis was used to compare the parameters among different stages of NAION group. Results Compared to the NCs group, the values of FA and Length in NAION group were reduced [0.20±0.11 vs 0.31±0.12, (5.85±0.92) vs (65.11± 6.89) mm], and the differences were statistically significant (t=-4.28,-5.25;P<0.05). The values of MD andλ┴were increased [(0.16±0.04)×10-3 vs (0.10±0.04)×10-3 mm2/s, (0.16±0.05)×10-3 vs (0.09±0.03)×10-3 mm2/s] in NAION group and the differences were statistically significant (t=6.83, 7.10;P<0.05). The value of FA and Length in acute period, progressive period and chronic period of the NAION group decreased differently compared to the NCs group. At the same time, the value of MD value and λ┴in the three periods of the NAION group increased compared to the NCs groupand the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The value of FA between the acute period, the progressive period, and the chronic period of NAION group were statistically signficant (F=10.88, P<0.05). However, no significant differences were found in the values of MD, λ┴and Length of the NAION group (F=0.23, 0.64, 0.33, 1.38;P=0.79, 0.54, 0.72, 0.27). Conclusion The parameters of DTI can be used to monitor the damage of optic nerve and development in NAION.

ABSTRACT

Objective To provide the evidence for working out the strategies for library service by investigating the characteristics of Internet users' information behaviors in medical college and university library. Methods The In-ternet users' information behaviors in electronic reading room of medical college and university library were recorded using management software and analyzed using the SPSS. Results Medical undergraduates were the major readers in electronic reading room of medical college and university library. Their Internet information behaviors were charac-terized by information searching which accounted for 55. 19%. The use of foreign databases, especially PubMed, was more than that of domestic databases. The time of readers to search and use information was centralized in their working hours. Conclusion Library should help its readers to know how to search the databases, how to make full use of Internet resources, and how to improve their learning efficiency in order to make sure that the readers can ef-fectively search and use the Internet information.

ABSTRACT

Objectives To reveal the amount and distribution of the publications indexed by the database of SCI,which were produced by the top 20 hospitals for domestic publications and for SCI publication in 2011.Methods The data of articles for the top 20 hospitals of publication were collected from SCIE.These hospital are from the ranking released by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China. The quantity and its changes over 2009-2011 of these articles were analyzed. Results The increases of SCI publications of the top 20 hospitals in 2009-2011 was 20.70%,28.35% and 7.06%,respectively.Meanwhile,the increase in domestic publication average china hospitals was 34.11%,33.00% and 21.49%,respectively.Conclusions It is important to evalutate the hospitals with the analysis of their publications in journal distribution. There is a significant decline in the increase ratio of publications in SCIE for the top 20 hospitals.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effect of cognitive-behavioral method on healthy behavior selection of in-patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods All patients with type 2 diabetes involved in this study were divided into the experimental group(99 patients) and the control group(96 patients). The experimental group was given health education with cognitive behavioral method, and the control group received only common health education. The comparison on the knowledge about diabetes mellitus and indicators of glucose metabolism on the first and 6th months between the two groups was performed. Results The knowledge about diabetes mellitus and indicators of glucose metabolism on the first and 6th months in the experimental group were better than those in the control group. Conclusions Cognitive-behavioral method can increase the treatment compliance of in-patients with type 2 diabetes and improve the glucose metabolism indicators, and created favorable condition for prevention of diabetes complications.
